Career Growth 1
One Business Egg
By Paul R.
Lloyd
Consider the
egg, a symbol of hope for a brighter tomorrow. Your small business
egg will hatch in its own time, and then you are to nurture it, for
it represents the opportunities not yet presented to you. The egg is
real. If you own a business, it is that business. If you own a
career working for someone else, your career is your business egg.
How do you
treat your small business egg? Will you keep it warm with love? You
cannot succeed in business without love. The Bible provides a
definition of love. We can use some of the elements of that
definition here in a business context. Love is patient. So are those
who succeed in business. Love is kind, so are the people who succeed
at business. Love knows no envy, it does not boast, it keeps no
records of wrongs. Successful business people are this way, too. Do
you love? Are you patient? Are you kind?
Or are you
envious? Do you boast? Do you keep a record of the wrongs others
commit against you? These provide a formula for failure.
Conceive your
business or career in love. When it hatches, nurture it in love.
Launch it into the world so that it takes wing on a flight to
success. As your love grows, so grows your business.
With your heart
in your business or career, the measure of success becomes love, not
money. It’s not how much money people pay you, though they will pay
you much if your products and services come wrapped in love. It’s
about how many people you love, and you will love many. It’s not
about how money helps you succeed, it’s about how you help others
succeed.
Here are some
questions to ask to help grow your business egg into a well-hatched
success:
·
How will you serve the
customer?
·
What gift of love will
you be giving away?
·
Does your business add
or subtract from your personal passion, vision, mission and goals?
·
Is your business fun
or work?
