Career Growth 1
The Marriage-Mobile
By Paul R.
Lloyd
Marriage, like
a grand old motor vehicle, is a prized possession, but unlike an
antique car, your marriage-mobile is for everyday use. Used
properly, it will last a lifetime, but you have to constantly
maintain it. Here are some basic maintenance tips:
Check your tire
pressure — no over inflated egos allowed. If under inflated, then
pump up your spouse so that your spouse can function properly under
pressure. But remember that too much pressure can lead to a blow out
and crash. Check your coolant through active steps to prevent your
temperature from rising and becoming too hot. Find ways to safely
blow off steam.
Change your oil
frequently to maintain the lubrication of your marriage engine
through an active love life. Be sure your steering wheel is working
properly so you stay on the right track. Check your brakes so you
can stop bad actions, and use your gas pedal to accelerate in the
right direction.
Be sure the
passenger area is clean. Check your trunk and get rid of any
unnecessary burdens you are carrying. Be sure your brake lights work
so you can guide others and keep them from making mistakes. Always
remember that your children are following right behind you and need
the guidance of your brake lights. Make sure your backup lights work
as well so that your children can see how you fix the mistakes you
make by backing up and starting over again. Check the locks on your
car door and trunk to be sure that thieves do not break in and steal
or damage your love machine.
